Talent Attraction

As a company built on a highly skilled workforce, finding the right talent to join our team is critical to our success. A core component of our talent strategy is attracting potential employees through our key partnerships with local schools and other organizations.

Trade School Partnerships

We partner directly with local trade schools to customize course curriculum and give students an opportunity to try out a profession in telecommunications to make sure it’s a good fit. Students have the opportunity to learn firsthand from our experienced team and make connections that may lead to future employment.

Dycom Internship & 20/20 Programs

Dycom Summer Internship Program: Targeted at providing meaningful internship experiences to students studying technology, finance, and business, the program provides students with specific projects to work on during their internship experience while learning about Dycom and our business.

20/20 Program: Dycom IT has partnered with Palm Beach State College to offer students studying technology the opportunity for practical work experience as they finish their degree program. This program has been successful in generating talent for our IT staff; we have 11 employees working with us who have graduated from the program since its launch in 2018.

Testimonials

“To be honest entering the 20/20 program I didn’t really see or understand what a career in IT would be like. Everything changed when I was afforded this opportunity. Dycom provided me with everything. Great mentorship and co-workers, as well as the ability to grow as an individual and a member of the IT Team. I would highly recommend this program.”– Lantz.

Talent Development

For our people, we provide learning, assessment and development opportunities so they can be successful in their current roles and prepare for future advancements.

Our employees cover a wide range of skills and functions. We recognize that we cannot take a one-size-fits-all approach when investing in our employees’ professional development. Instead, we have unique and meaningful opportunities to meet the differing needs of our employees, from those looking to build deeper technical expertise to those interested in pursuing managerial and corporate leadership positions.

We see up-skilling as a core focus for Dycom. All our employees are provided with opportunities to enhance their skills and expand their expertise. Technology is rapidly changing, and it is critical our employees are well prepared to support the needs of our organization.

Education Assistance Program

Employees with more than 6 months of service can participate in the company’s Education Assistance Program, which provides reimbursement for associate, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for any employee. Participants are eligible for a maximum of $7,500 annually, with uncapped reimbursement for each degree program.

Since the program’s inception in fiscal 2016, we’ve had over 150 participants with over $1 million reimbursed.

Leadership Development Programs

Level-Up
Our front-line leaders directly impact the engagement and productivity of our people. Developing the leadership skills of this group is a priority for our organization to maximize their effectiveness as leaders and the experience of our employees. Our Level Up program aims to educate Supervisors and Managers on the foundations of managerial concepts, professional behavior, and interpersonal skills. Since the program’s launch in Q1 fiscal 2023, over a third of our front-line leaders have graduated from the program.

Elevate
Mid-level leaders play a key role in executing strategy and leading productivity. They must lead by influence, drive change on a larger scale, develop talent, and adopt a broader perspective on core areas of the business. This year we launched the Elevate program which has been designed to enhance the skills and behaviors of mid-level managers, enabling them to lead effectively and empower frontline supervisors and staff. We currently have nearly 100 leaders enrolled in the program.

Online professional development resources and training programs

Our entire team has access to LinkedIn Learning’s Library of over 210,000 professional development courses. Our teams have accessed nearly 100,000 professional development courses this year.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We believe in fostering a diverse work environment where our people are treated with respect, can be productive, and are empowered to thrive personally and professionally.

As a company that operates across the U.S., we live in, work in, and serve a wide variety of communities. It is important to us that our workforce reflects and embraces the diversity of these communities. Our people bring their own experiences, backgrounds and talents to work with us every day. Our commitment is to provide an engaging environment that attracts the very best talent and provides opportunities for them to develop and grow with us.

As a company, we are extremely proud of our talented team. The following chart highlights the diversity of our workforce.
